Thank you for this update in climate awareness. Yes, the greedy psychopaths and degenerates that have destroyed much of the habitability of the planet are finding out there’s nowhere to hide from the consequences of their avarice-driven privileged decisions and disastrous deeds.
Unfortunately, the poor and those that didn’t contribute to these conditions (mainly indigenous communities around the world) are already suffering the worse impacts of climate catastrophe. Hope the rich assholes get their due.
As for the rest, your advice is time tested and true…build community, resilience, sustainability and trust.
I moved to the pacific northwest from the desert of the southwest due to climate and community
I have found both
Before I lived in suburban sprawl and didn’t know my neighbors
Now I know 80% of my neighbors
This area is just geared towards community, helping each other and is environmentally conscious
I didn’t expect the community aspect to be so glaringly different but I agree it’s necessary and it’s the differentiator that has made my move the best decision

I live in Buffalo, NY, a climate change "refuge." Temperatures here have been consistently 30°C plus this summer. Nothing to complain about as higher temperatures decimate India and Pakistan, sorry Europe and Western U.S., not even close. However, the temperatures here are absurd compared to my college years here four decades ago. I have seen no signs of hardening critical infrastructure here against heat. We're only doing better by the serendipity of location.
Ultimately, there are no safe locations. Higher-elevation wealthy people had better have plenty of cans of Spam as agriculture fails. I'm sure worried for them
We love Patagonia and had plans to move to El Bolson or Lago Puelo but being there last year during the fires and seeing how Milei is selling out the country to the Israelis discouraged us. Hope you manage to turn that around--what's happening there is heartbreaking.
