Another brilliant essay Ricky. Most authoritative scientists agree with you. We're getting hotter, faster and it's unlikely our civilization will emerge unscathed. People shouldn't take a colder than normal year as evidence that the heating is a "hoax". I believe that what we're seeing unfold is a punctuated equilibrium where periods of rapid heating are separated by plateaus caused by feedback loops of less heating. The net effect should be an increase of 2.0c or greater by century's end.
